Our Director
Ana Bonilla founder and Director of Ollin Yoliztli Dance Academy is a graduate from one of Mexico’s most prestigious fine arts academies, the National Institute of the Fine Arts known as
“El Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes” (INBA), in Mexico City.
She has been teaching for over 40 years students of all ages, cultures, levels, genders and special needs or disabilities.
As part of her research studies she traveled through all 31 states of Mexico to learn first hand from the indigenous tribes, the traditions, the culture and the origins of all Mexican folklore dances.
During her career she was also part of two of the largest and most well known Folclorico groups in the world, El Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez (1983) and El Ballet Folclorico Nacional de Mexico de Silvia Lozano (1984).
